Before You Start

Requirements:

  • ✅ WordPress 5.5 or higher (tested up to 7.1)

  • ✅ PHP 7.4 or higher

  • ✅ WordPress admin access

  • ✅ Basic familiarity with WordPress dashboard

What You'll Need:

  • An email address. The setup wizard creates a new AllAccessible account or links your existing one - same email, either way.

Current plugin version: 2.1.7. If your site is still on a 1.3.x version, see "Original plugin (1.3.x)" near the end of this guide.

Time Required: 5-10 minutes

Installation Methods

You have two options for installing the AllAccessible plugin:

Method 1: Install from WordPress Plugin Directory (Recommended)

Method 2: Manual Upload

Method 1: Install from WordPress Plugin Directory

Step 1: Access Plugins Screen

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard

  2. Navigate to Plugins → Add New

Step 2: Search for AllAccessible

  1. In the search box (top right), type: AllAccessible

  2. Find the plugin titled "Accessibility by AllAccessible"

    • Author: AllAccessible

    • Look for the AllAccessible logo

Step 3: Install the Plugin

  1. Click the Install Now button

  2. Wait for installation to complete (usually 5-10 seconds)

  3. The button will change to Activate

Step 4: Activate the Plugin

  1. Click the Activate button

  2. You'll be redirected to the Plugins page

  3. You should see a success message

Step 5: Verify Free Version is Working

  1. Visit the homepage of your website (front-end, not admin)

  2. Look for the accessibility button (usually bottom-right corner)

  3. Click the button to open the accessibility widget

  4. Try a feature (like increasing text size) to confirm it works

✅ Free version is now active! You can stop here if you only need basic accessibility features.

Method 2: Manual Upload

Step 1: Download the Plugin

  1. Visit the AllAccessible WordPress Plugin Page

  2. Click the Download button

  3. Save the allaccessible.zip file to your computer

Step 2: Upload to WordPress

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin

  2. Go to Plugins → Add New

  3. Click the Upload Plugin button (top of page)

  4. Click Choose File and select allaccessible.zip

  5. Click Install Now

Step 3: Activate and Verify

  1. Click Activate Plugin after installation completes

  2. Verify the free widget appears on your website (see Method 1, Step 5)

Connecting Your Account (Free or Starter)

The free widget works without an account. Connecting an account unlocks your dashboard, accessibility scans, and - on the Starter plan - AllAccessible AI ✦.

Step 1: Open the Setup Wizard

  1. In WordPress admin, click AllAccessible in the left menu

  2. If this site is not connected yet, you land on Setup (Step 1 of 2)

Step 2: Enter Your Email and Pick a Plan

  1. Enter your email address (your WordPress admin email is pre-filled)

  2. Choose a plan:

    • Free forever - widget, contrast and sizing controls, essential accessibility tools

    • AllAccessible AI - 7 days free, then $10/month: agentic AI fixes, smart alt text, WCAG/ADA/EAA audits

  3. Click Get started

We create a new account or link your existing one by email. If the site is already on another AllAccessible account, the wizard lets you request access instead.

Step 3: Run Your First Scan

Step 2 of 2 confirms Account ready and offers to run your first accessibility scan. Run it - the results feed the Agentic Fixes queue and your dashboard scores.

Step 4: Verify Paid Features (Starter plan)

  1. Visit the homepage of your website

  2. Click the accessibility button

  3. On the Starter plan you should now see features like:

    • Text-to-Speech

    • Accessibility Statement

    • Preset User Profiles

    • No "Powered by" branding

Where things live after setup

The AllAccessible menu in WordPress admin has:

  • Dashboard - site overview, latest scan issues, quick actions, pageview usage

  • Account & Settings - Connection (Account ID, Site ID, site URL), Plan & Usage, Widget quick toggles, Advanced

  • Widget Customizer - color, position, icon, and shape (paid plans) plus the Widget Language card (every plan)

  • Agentic Fixes - the review-and-approve queue (see below)

  • Image AI - image alt-text management

Note: Admin pages fetch your settings from AllAccessible when you open them, not on every page load of your site.

Customizing the Widget

Widget Language (every plan)

Go to AllAccessible → Widget Customizer. The Widget Language card at the top sets the language the widget opens in for your visitors:

  • Auto (match each visitor's browser) - the default. Auto follows each visitor's browser language, then your page language.

  • A specific language - every visitor sees the widget in that language first. Visitors can still switch languages inside the widget.

If your WordPress site language differs from Auto, the card offers a one-click Use [language] button that applies your site language. Click Save Language. Changes typically apply immediately; allow up to 30 minutes for cached widgets.

Text-to-speech voices and other advanced options live in Advanced Widget Settings in your AllAccessible dashboard (linked from the card).

Widget appearance (Starter plan)

Below the language card, the Widget Customizer lets you set:

  • Color

  • Position - Bottom Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Center, Middle Right, Middle Left, Top Right, or Top Left

  • Icon and shape

Changes save instantly and clear the visitor cache. A live preview on the right shows the result. On the Free plan the customizer shows an upgrade prompt instead.

Quick toggles (Account & Settings → Widget)

  • Hide widget branding - removes the "Powered by" link inside the widget panel (included with paid plans)

  • Headless mode (Beta) - skip the floating button and trigger the panel from your own UI (Enterprise)

Everything else

Feature toggles, the accessibility statement, and text-to-speech settings are managed in your AllAccessible dashboard: Account & Settings → Widget → Advanced settings, or app.allaccessible.org.

Reviewing and Bulk-Approving Fixes in wp-admin

Starting in plugin version 2.1, you can review and approve AllAccessible AI remediation suggestions without ever leaving WordPress. Your team stays in control: the agentic AI proposes fixes, and you approve them.

Step 1: Open the Agentic Fixes Queue

  1. In WordPress admin, go to AllAccessible → Agentic Fixes

  2. You'll land on the Pending review tab, which lists the fixes waiting for your approval

The page has three tabs:

  • Pending review - suggested fixes that haven't been approved yet

  • Approved & applied - fixes you've approved and that are now live

  • Reverted - fixes you previously approved and later undid

Each suggestion is grouped by the kind of issue it addresses, such as:

  • Missing image description

  • Button without a label

  • Form field without a label

  • Missing page language

  • Link without text

  • ARIA labeling issue

  • Heading hierarchy issue

Step 2: Approve Fixes

You have a few ways to approve:

Approve one fix at a time - Review an individual suggestion and approve it (or revert it later if needed).

Approve a fix across every page it appears on - When the same issue shows up on multiple pages, you can approve it everywhere in a single action.

Bulk-approve a whole rule type in one click - When five or more fixes of the same type are pending, a highlighted banner appears at the top of the queue with a Bulk approve all button. Click it to approve every pending fix of that type at once. You'll be asked to confirm before the batch is applied.

Step 3: Read the In-Page Confirmation

As soon as a bulk action finishes, a notification appears in the page confirming what happened - no refresh needed:

  • Green - everything in the batch was approved successfully

  • Amber - some fixes were approved and some were skipped (you'll see how many and why)

  • Red - nothing could be approved (with the reason shown)

The queue and its counts then refresh automatically so your review list stays accurate.

Safe to retry: While a bulk action is running, its button is disabled, so an accidental double-click won't approve the same batch twice.

Plan Requirements

The Agentic Fixes review queue is a paid-plan feature. On the Free plan you'll see a preview of what agentic remediation can do along with an upgrade prompt, rather than the live approval queue. Upgrade from within the plugin to unlock full review and bulk approval.

WordPress Multisite Installation

AllAccessible works seamlessly with WordPress Multisite:

Multisite Compatibility

  • Install the plugin network-wide OR on individual sites

  • Each site in the network is added as a subdomain of your main site in the AllAccessible dashboard

  • Each site can have its own widget customization

  • One dashboard for all sites

Installation Steps for Multisite:

Option 1: Network Activation (Recommended)

  1. Network Admin → Plugins → Add New

  2. Search for "AllAccessible"

  3. Click Network Activate

  4. All sites in network will have the plugin

Option 2: Individual Site Activation

  1. Install plugin in Network Admin

  2. Go to each individual site's Plugins page

  3. Activate AllAccessible for that specific site

Setting Up Your Account on Multisite:

  1. Add your main domain as a site in the AllAccessible dashboard

  2. Add each subdomain/multisite URL in the AllAccessible dashboard under Subdomains

  3. Run the setup wizard on each site with the same email so they link to the same account

Common Installation Issues

Issue: Plugin Won't Activate

Possible Causes:

  • PHP version too old (requires PHP 7.4+)

  • WordPress version too old (requires WP 5.5+)

  • Plugin conflict

Solutions:

  1. Check your PHP version: Dashboard → Tools → Site Health

  2. Update WordPress to latest version

  3. Deactivate other plugins temporarily to test for conflicts

  4. Check error logs in cPanel or hosting control panel

Issue: Widget Doesn't Appear on Website

Possible Causes:

  • Caching plugin preventing widget from loading

  • JavaScript conflict with theme

  • Not visiting the front-end of site

Solutions:

  1. Clear all caches (WordPress cache, browser cache, CDN cache)

  2. Temporarily disable caching plugins

  3. Try a different browser or incognito mode

  4. Check browser console for JavaScript errors (F12)

  5. Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (Twenty Twenty-Four) to test

Issue: Can't Connect to AllAccessible Account

Possible Causes:

  • Firewall blocking the connection to AllAccessible

  • Server doesn't allow outbound connections

  • Email belongs to a different account than the one that owns this site

Solutions:

  1. Check AllAccessible → Account & Settings → Connection - it shows "Connected" or "Action required"

  2. Contact your hosting provider about outbound firewall rules

  3. If the wizard says the site is on another account, use Request access or ask that account's owner to add you

  4. Check WordPress Site Health for connection issues

Issue: Settings Won't Save

Possible Causes:

  • Permissions issue

  • Browser cache

  • Plugin conflict

Solutions:

  1. Hard refresh your browser (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R)

  2. Check WordPress file permissions

  3. Deactivate other plugins to test for conflicts

  4. Try a different browser

WordPress-Specific Features

3. Review Your Accessibility Scan

  1. Go to app.allaccessible.org or open AllAccessible → Dashboard in WordPress

  2. Review the issues from your latest scan (the Free plan includes one scan per month; Starter scans monthly with up to 50 pages, and can rescan on demand from the editor or admin bar)

  3. Review the accessibility report

  4. Address critical issues first

4. Add Accessibility Statement (Starter plan)

  • Customize the statement text in the AllAccessible dashboard

  • The statement appears in your widget

5. Train Your Team

  • Show content editors how the widget works

  • Explain accessibility best practices

  • Share AllAccessible dashboard access if needed

Original plugin (1.3.x)

If your site still runs a 1.3.x version of the plugin, it uses the original AllAccessible widget.

  • Support for the 1.3.x plugin ends on December 31, 2026. The widget keeps serving after that date, but the 1.3.x admin features are no longer supported.

  • Sites move to the current widget automatically. On December 31, 2026, every site on the original widget moves to the current widget. Customers on the original plan receive notices from October 1, 2026 with their options.

  • How to update now: In WordPress admin go to Plugins → Installed Plugins, find Accessibility by AllAccessible, and click Update now (or use Dashboard → Updates). Your existing account connection is kept; after updating, open AllAccessible in the menu to confirm the connection and run a scan.

Uninstalling the Plugin

If you need to remove AllAccessible:

Deactivation vs. Uninstallation

Deactivate: Disables plugin but keeps settings
​Uninstall: Removes plugin completely including settings

To Deactivate:

  1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins

  2. Find AllAccessible

  3. Click Deactivate

To Uninstall Completely:

  1. Deactivate the plugin first

  2. Click Delete link

  3. Confirm deletion

  4. Your AllAccessible account remains active (you can use it on other sites)

Note: Deleting the plugin does NOT cancel your subscription. To cancel your subscription, visit the AllAccessible dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the plugin work with my theme?
A: Yes! AllAccessible works with all standard WordPress themes including Divi, Elementor, Avada, and custom themes.

Q: Will it slow down my website?
A: No. The plugin loads the widget asynchronously and skips admin, feed, preview, and page-builder requests.

Q: Can I use it with page builders (Elementor, Divi, etc.)?
A: Yes! AllAccessible works with all major WordPress page builders.

Q: Can I use one plan for multiple sites?
A: Each website has its own plan. Subdomains of the same domain (www, blog, shop) are added under that site in the dashboard.

Q: What happens if I deactivate the plugin?
A: The accessibility widget will no longer appear on your website. Your AllAccessible account and settings remain intact, and you can reactivate anytime.
