Generating a VPAT / Compliance Report

Overview

When a customer, procurement team, or legal reviewer asks for proof of your accessibility work, you'll want a formal report. AllAccessible generates procurement-ready reports — including a VPAT / Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) — from your site's audit data, plus lighter-weight summaries and a CSV export. This guide shows you where reports live, which add-on each report needs, and how to generate and download one.

Note: A VPAT/ACR is a good-faith self-assessment of how your product measures against accessibility standards. It documents your current status honestly across "Supports," "Partially Supports," and "Does Not Support" ratings. It is not a certification of full compliance or a guarantee of legal protection.

Who This Is For

  • Site owners responding to procurement or RFP accessibility questions

  • Team members who need to share results with stakeholders

  • Anyone documenting accessibility progress over time

What You'll Learn

  • Where the Reports section lives and what each report type covers

  • Which add-on each report requires (Reporting Package, VPAT Reports)

  • How to generate and download a report

  • Where to find the CSV export (included on Starter and above)

Report Types at a Glance

The Reports section offers three "Generate New Report" cards, each producing a PDF and an HTML version, plus a CSV export:

Report

What it's for

Requires

Executive Summary

High-level KPIs for stakeholders

Reporting Package add-on

Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5)

Procurement-ready vendor self-attestation against WCAG success criteria

VPAT Reports add-on

Full Accessibility Report

Complete technical analysis with remediation detail

Reporting Package add-on

CSV Export

Raw audit data for your own analysis

Included on Starter and above

The three generate-report cards are always visible so you can see their value, but if the required add-on isn't on your site, the card shows a lock "Addon" chip and sends you to the upgrade flow instead of generating.

Before You Start: Add-ons and Plans

Reports are gated by plan tier and add-ons. There are three states you might see:

  • Paid plan (Starter or above), no reporting add-on → a green "CSV Export Available" banner: CSV is included, but premium PDF/HTML reports require the Reporting Package add-on ($20/month). You'll see a Download CSV button.

  • Free plan → a blue "Upgrade to Access Reports" banner: reports require a paid plan, with an Upgrade Plan button.

  • Add-on owned → full access to generate the corresponding report(s) and to the Report History table.

Add-on summary:

  • Reporting Package ($20/month) — unlocks Executive Summary and Full Accessibility Report (PDF/HTML), plus Report History.

  • VPAT Reports add-on ($49) — unlocks the Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5).

  • CSV export — included on Starter and above, no add-on required.

Tip: If procurement specifically asked for a "VPAT" or "ACR," that's the Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5) card, which needs the VPAT Reports add-on. The Reporting Package alone unlocks the Executive Summary and Full Accessibility Report, but not the VPAT.

Step-by-Step: Generate a Report

Step 1: Open Reports

  1. Log in and select your site (and subdomain)

  2. Open the Audits & Fixes tab, then the Reports sub-tab — or use the top-level Reports tab (both open the same page)

  3. You'll land on Accessibility Reports — "Generate and manage automated accessibility reports for your site"

If the Reports sub-tab shows a lock icon, the reporting add-on isn't active yet; the tooltip reads "Reports require Reporting Package upgrade."

Step 2: Choose a Report Type

Pick the card that matches what you need:

  • Executive Summary — for a leadership or stakeholder overview

  • Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5) — for procurement / vendor questionnaires

  • Full Accessibility Report — for a technical, remediation-focused deep dive

If the card shows an "Addon" lock chip, selecting it takes you to the add-on upgrade page for that report rather than generating it.

Step 3: Generate

With the required add-on active, choose the report to generate it from your latest audit data. The report renders as a formatted document you can view, print, and download.

For the VPAT specifically, the generated document is titled "Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) 2.5" and rates each applicable success criterion as Supports, Partially Supports, Does Not Support, Not Applicable, or Not Evaluated. On the rendered VPAT you'll find actions for Download PDF, Print Report, View HTML, and Back to Reports.

Step 4: Download

  • PDF / HTML: use the download and view actions on the rendered report (e.g. Download PDF, View HTML).

  • CSV: on the Reports page, use the Download CSV button (available on Starter and above, no add-on needed).

Report History

Once you own a reporting or VPAT add-on, a Report History table appears — "View and download previously generated reports." Columns:

  • Report Type

  • Generated (when you created it)

  • Audit Date (the data it was based on)

  • Score

  • ActionsView and Download

If you haven't generated anything yet, you'll see "No Reports Yet" with a Generate Your First Report prompt. Without any reporting add-on, this area is replaced by an upsell — "Unlock Report History" with an Add Reporting Package button.

Common Questions

Q: What's the difference between a VPAT and an ACR?
A: They're closely related. A VPAT is the template; a completed VPAT is often called an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR). AllAccessible's VPAT 2.5 report serves this purpose — a procurement-ready self-attestation.

Q: Which add-on do I need for a VPAT?
A: The VPAT Reports add-on. The Reporting Package alone unlocks the Executive Summary and Full Accessibility Report, but the VPAT is a separate add-on.

Q: Can I get any report on the free plan?
A: Reports require a paid plan. On free, the Reports page shows an upgrade prompt. The CSV export is available on Starter and above.

Q: Does generating a VPAT make my site compliant?
A: No. A VPAT documents your current conformance status honestly — including where you partially or don't yet support a criterion. It's a good-faith disclosure, not a certification or legal guarantee.

Q: What data are reports based on?
A: Your site's audit data. Each report notes the Audit Date it was generated from, so run a fresh scan first if you want the most current picture. See Running an Accessibility Scan.

Q: Can I regenerate a report later?
A: Yes. Generate a new report anytime; each run is saved in Report History with its own generated date and audit date.

Troubleshooting

Issue: The Report Card Shows a Lock / "Addon" Chip

Cause: The report you selected requires an add-on that isn't active on this site (Reporting Package for Executive/Full, VPAT Reports for the VPAT).

Solution: Add the required add-on from the upgrade flow the card links to. CSV export doesn't need an add-on on Starter and above.

Issue: The Reports Tab Has a Lock Icon

Cause: The Reporting Package add-on isn't active. The tooltip reads "Reports require Reporting Package upgrade."

Solution: Add the Reporting Package to unlock premium reports and Report History. You can still export CSV on Starter and above.

Issue: I Get an Error Opening Reports or a Generated Report

Cause: Reports are available to the site owner and team members who have access to the site. An unexpected error usually indicates an access or membership problem, not expected behavior.

Solution: If you should have access and hit an error, contact support.

Next Steps

  1. Run a fresh scan so your report reflects current data — see Running an Accessibility Scan

  2. Generate the report that matches your audience (Executive, VPAT, or Full)

  3. Keep improving with Agentic AI Fixes, then regenerate to show progress over time
