Widget Settings Not Saving — Troubleshooting Guide

How to fix issues when widget customization changes are not applying

Written by Frank

Widget Settings Not Saving?

If you've made changes to your widget settings in the dashboard but they're not appearing on your website, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Step 1: Reset the Widget

The quickest fix is to reset the widget directly on your site:

  1. Open the accessibility widget on your website (click the accessibility icon)

  2. Click the Reset button (circular arrow icon in the widget header)

  3. Confirm the reset when prompted

  4. Refresh the page

This resets the widget to its default state and pulls the latest settings from your dashboard.

Step 2: Clear Your Browser Cache

If resetting the widget doesn't work, try clearing your browser cache:

  1. Right-click the refresh button in your browser and select "Empty Cache and Hard Reload"

  2. Or go to your browser's Settings → Privacy → Clear Browsing Data

Step 3: Check for Caching Plugins

If your website uses a caching plugin (WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, Cloudflare, etc.), clear your site's cache from that plugin's settings. Some caching plugins cache JavaScript files, which can prevent the widget from updating.
